-
NO. While all synthetic fleece is essentially

fiber can make the claim to be recycled. (Click

in the fiber of each of our Santa Cruz Collection

- What is the Coop America Business Network?
-
This is the largest association of socially
responsible businesses in the world. Blue Lotus
has been approved for inclusion in their National
Green Pages directory, America’s honor roll
of green companies, and pledges to conduct
business according to standards that reach beyond
contemporary practices in addressing the needs of
consumers, employees, the community and the
environment.
- Why do you call yourselves a sustainable business?
-
We are striving to earn this title every day. We
almost exclusively utilize fleece that is either
made from the fiber of recycled plastic bottles
or manufactured from a Mill that values its
workers and the environment as its paramount
values. Our sewers are paid a fair living wage.
We print our promotional material paper on paper
with significant post consumer recycled content,
minimize our packaging and aim to educate the
community about the importance and value of
recycling at every one of the many shows and
festivals we attend to sell our blankets. We say
we strive, for every day we must make decisions,
that place an immediate and additional economic
cost onto the values we uphold. We use
sustainability, economic justice and a regard for
the environment in addition to profitability as a
guide for our business decisions.
